Dinosaurios fue compuesta en 1988, mucho antes de Parque Jurásico y todo el boom posterior que desde entonces y hasta ahora han generado estas maravillosas criaturas. Ya en esa época, estaba comenzando a cambiar la visión que se tenían de ellos, vislumbrándose que se trataban de sofisticadas y avanzadas criaturas que ocupaban con eficiencia casi todos los nichos ecológicos terrestres de aquel entonces. En esos años, el descubrimiento de la capa enriquecida en Iridio en el límite Cretácico-Paleoceno en diversas localidades del mundo, y su asociación con la caída de un meteorito era todavía reciente, y todavía no había un consenso general de que este evento había sido la causa definitiva de la extinción de los dinosaurios, al igual que del 75% de todos los seres vivos que poblaban el planeta, entre ellos los ammonites, que serían tema de mi tesis doctoral años después.

Dinosaurs was composed in 1988, long before Jurassic Park and all the subsequent boom that these wonderful creatures have generated since then and until now. Already at that time, the vision that people had of them was beginning to change, glimpsing that they were sophisticated and advanced creatures that efficiently occupied almost all the terrestrial ecological niches of that time. In those years, the discovery of the Iridium-enriched layer at the Cretaceous-Paleocene boundary in various locations around the world, and its association with the fall of a meteorite was still recent, and there was still no general consensus that this event had been the definitive cause of the extinction of the dinosaurs, as well as of 75% of all the living beings that inhabited the planet, among them the ammonites, which would be the subject of my doctoral thesis years later.
